The Content Strategy Manager will own content and copywriting. We are looking for a driven and creative content manager. As a pillar of our small but mighty marketing team, you’ll help tell the story of our firm and our founders, share insights from partners, and spread the word about ongoing initiatives and activities. You will also work cross-functionally with partners and portfolio companies, and while supporting events and other key Foundation Capital initiatives.

This role will be hybrid based in San Francisco or Palo Alto.

What you will do:

  • Work collaboratively with our design and creative teams, you will deliver exceptional communications and compelling content to Foundation Capital’s community of founders, investors, and partners
  • Define content strategy and roadmap, adjusting as necessary and communicating goals and plans regularly
  • Act as Foundation Capital chief copywriter and line editor
  • Create original content across multiple technology sectors, voices, and topics – from tweets to white-papers to videos
  • Translate our business objectives into collateral and campaigns that engage key audiences, deliver value for our constituents, and reinforce the Foundation brand
  • Collaborate with the rest of our marketing function on our social media and digital marketing strategy
  • Consult with our portfolio companies
  • Juggle multiple projects simultaneously across different stages from ideation to execution, while partnering cross-functionally and staying nimble with the ability to pivot quickly as needed
  • Develop content with buy-in from key stakeholders at Foundation
  • Maintain and grow our library of content, including recycling and refurbishing existing content
  • Run post-campaign analysis using quantitative and qualitative insights to understand the impact of our work
  • Work with and manage external agencies, freelancers, and vendors to create and deliver content for Foundation marketing campaigns
  • Continuously riff with your marketing colleagues and the broader Foundation team to generate new, creative ideas, test them, and bring them to life!
  • This role will report to Foundation’s Marketing Partner

What you should have:

  • 6+ years of experience in content strategy, journalism, social media, communications, copywriting, marketing or related field
  • A body of creative work in writing and/or copywriting is a requirement, and a track record in any additional mediums such as video, audio, and/or graphic design is considered a major asset
  • Ability to work with business stakeholders to translate key organizational objectives into creative projects that make an impact on our target audiences
  • Proven ability to deliver content and campaigns across multiple channels – with exceptional communication skills and a passion for storytelling. Built and executed a content strategy.
  • A portfolio of referenceable work for our team to review
  • Bachelor's degree required, advanced degree preferred
  • Open-minded and creative approach with a passion for technology and culture trends
  • A motivated self-starter’s temperament and a comfort with ambiguity. Must be someone who puts work first and pushes to accomplish things rather than waiting to be asked.
