As part of our marketing team, the Head of Editorial will build a dedicated content function to help position Eclipse as the best partner for founders transforming physical industries and the expert voice in the Industrial Evolution. The Head of Editorial will drive Eclipse’s content marketing strategy and exercise editorial oversight of both brand-related content and partner-focused content. Working closely with multiple internal teams and external agency partners, this person will lead a new publishing effort that sources and produces thought-provoking content related to building the New Economy. The successful candidate will be a critical thinker, curious, influential, collaborative, and innovative with the ability to strategically bring a diverse range of investment theses, data, and complex insights together to increase the visibility of both the Eclipse brand and our Investment Partners’ brands. This person will exude strong editorial judgment about what makes a compelling story, how best to show case our partners’ expertise and unique views, why it matters for stakeholders (founders and LPs), and they will rationalize editorial priorities through diligent analysis of content metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

● Spearhead Eclipse’s content marketing strategy and publishing effort working alongside our investment team to accelerate awareness and position expertise of the Eclipse brand

● Align thought leadership content around the marketing activation of key brand and partner platforms throughout the year

● Interact with investment partners to craft and integrate compelling investment and company building insights into cohesive platform themes and stories

● Establish and oversee editorial standards and guidelines of content based on strategic objectives

● Write, edit, data mine, fact-check, and publish content across content platforms

● Support Eclipse’s social media content strategy, including Partner-related social strategy efforts

● Build and manage external agencies/contractors to support the creation of content via digital-first formats—blogs, videos, data visualization and infographics, social imagery, etc.

● Lead team members and partners, including external agencies, videographers, graphic artists and video editors on story briefings, planning processes to meet tight deadlines

● Partner with internal stakeholders to reimagine how content is produced for wider consumption and interest around the Industrial Evolution and resulting New Economy

Candidate Profile:

● Minimum 6-10 years of experience in senior reporting and editing positions intechnology journalism or communications

● In-depth knowledge — and passion — for the technology ecosystem, especially related to transforming physical industries

● Excellent leadership and organizational skills, with ability to influence across stakeholder groups, and empower and enable team members

● Superb writing and editing abilities, and excellent interviewing skills

● Ability to work very quickly, deliver on or before the deadline, and go the extra mile

● Strong background in content analytics and has experience reporting on content metrics to stakeholders

● Ability to produce basic graphic/design

● Experience running social media content strategy, paid social experience is a plus

● Intense attention to accuracy, detail, and consistency

● A self-starter with creativity, team attitude, versatility, and persistence
